Thomas took American citizenship at Paradise Plantation, Long Island, also he had a warrant to teach boot making to prison inmates in Texas, Nevada and Utah.
He married his first wife in America, her name unknown, when she died he came back to England with three of five of their children ( Bill, Len, and Flossie) the eldest child, Thirza died before leaving America and the baby, name unknown was left in America....

More info been found: Bill (William), Len, and Flossie (Florence), Baby Ernest who was 5 Months old on the passenger list, so the baby didn't get left behind, but only 3 children came back with Thomas. Florence does not appear on the 1901 Census with Thomas and his 2nd family, but William does. Found out since that Florence died at age 10...We have no record of Len coming back to England, was it him who was left behind? Only Florence, William and Ernest came back with Thomas....

New info: Thomas married his first first Mary in England, not America.....
Thomas went to America sometime after 1887, (Year of marriage), could have been 1891 and came back to England on the 15th Feb 1896 from Pennslyvania, United States on the Indiana, the port they came into was Liverpool Thomas was age 32 at this time, Occ: Shoemaker, Name listed as Hutchington...(on incoming passenger ship list.) Listed with him was William, Flossie and Ernest....
According to the 1901 Census Ernest was adopted by the Hallum Family.
