British Army: Enlisted into the Durham Light Infantry, on the 6th August 1888, Age 22, His Occupation at the time was Fireman. No 3205, Served at Home from 3rd Aug 1888, East India from 3rd Dec 1889, Home from 17 Feb 1896 and South Africa from 24 Nov 1899. George was transfered to the 24th Training Reserve Batallion on the 1st Sept 1916, and allotted a new number 14171. Discharged 5th Jan 1917. Receive his War Badge 26 Feb 1917, home address at this time was 4 Chandler Street.
