There is some mistery over the month of his birth and Baptism, as on his military records he was born in June 1856 however his Baptism was in Feb 1856.

Service in the Royal Navy Ceased on the 20 Dec 1892, due to death. Coroners Report states Edward died drom shock to the system caused by attempted suiside by hanging during a fit of temporary insanity, the shock acting on a weak heart....Edwards conduct was always very good. He served for about 19 Years on about 11 different ships, some more than once.
